Athlete Highlight - Sarah Galvão
As a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete who first started as an adult, it's both amazing and absolutely terrifying to see so many young athletes entering the adult divisions. I'm talking about those teenagers that have been training nearly as long as they've been walking.
One of those young phenoms is Kingz Athlete Sarah Galvão.
Recently promoted promoted by her legendary parents, Sarah has closed the chapter on a record-setting juvenile blue belt career, and now has her eyes set on the purple belt adult division.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you've seen Sarah grow up through the social media accounts of her famous parents. Her father, Andre Galvão is one of the living legends of the the sport of jiu-jitsu. Recently retired from a long competitive career, Andre boasts multiple-time championship wins from all of the major BJJ promotions: the IBJJF World Championships, ADCC World Championships, and UAEJJF Abu Dhabi Pro Championships. Her mother, Angelica Galvão a legend among the women's jiu-jitsu community, having been a top competitive athlete of her generation, and having inspired women - and mothers - around the globe in their own jiu-jitsu journeys. They now spend most of their time running one of the most successful BJJ teams on the planet: Atos Jiu Jitsu.
Sarah took a moment out of her busy schedule to tell us about her life and goals.
