Your Best & Worst BJJ Goals for the New Year

Are you ready for the new year to begin?? Yeah, me neither. But there's no stopping time, am I right?

What you can do is plan to make 2024 the best year ever... at least better than 2020 (which isn't a high bar). How do you do that? By setting goals and keeping to them. I hear your eyes roll. Agreed, the setting of the goals is easy, but actually accomplishing them can be a might trickier. We've all been there.

Where you - and everybody, really - misses the mark is that the goals you set might not be the best. They might not be "SMART": specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound. So, really, you might have been setting yourself up for failure from the start. Ugh. Yeah, I hear ya.

But never fear! We are here... with a list of the best and worst jiu-jitsu related goals for the new year:

The Best

  • Be More Consistent
  • Study More
  • Expand Your Game
  • Go to More Open Mats
  • Compete X Times

The Worst:

  • Lose Weight
  • Win XXX Championship
  • Get My XXX Belt
