So you think you can get away with no learning any takedowns for your BJJ game, huh? Well, think again. That ship has long sailed. Especially if you're a competitor - but even if you're not - being a well-rounded practitioner is what we're all striving for. That includes having a solid takedown game.
"But wrestling is haaaaard." Yeah, it is. You're going to get a lot more bumps and bruises from wrestling and judo than you are from butt-scooting. But as soon as you achieve a certain level of proficiency on your feet, you're going to find that when you do go to the ground, you'll be in a lot better position than your opponent.
